This will mean approximately $550 more for the average family.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This benefit will be delivered as part of the scheduled CCB payment in May.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Those who already receive the Canada Child Benefit do not need to re-apply.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/revenue-agency\/services\/child-family-benefits\/canada-child-benefit-overview\/canada-child-benefit-apply.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apply for the Canada Child Benefit<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">________________________________________________________________<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Special Goods and Services Tax credit payment<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A one-time special payment by early May through the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/revenue-agency\/services\/child-family-benefits\/gsthstc-eligibility.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Goods and Services Tax credit<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for low- and modest-income families.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The average additional benefit will be close to $400 for single individuals and close to $600 for couples.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>There is no need to apply for this payment. Canadians who are impacted by COVID-19 and experiencing financial hardship as a result should contact their financial institution regarding flexibility for a mortgage deferral. This allows flexibility to be available \u2212 when needed \u2212 to those who need it the most.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cba.ca\/mortgage-deferral-to-help-canadians-experiencing-financial-hardship-due-to-covid-19\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Learn more<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">_________________________________________________________________<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Contact your financial institution for further mortgage assistance.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation and other mortgage insurers offer <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cmhc-schl.gc.ca\/en\/finance-and-investing\/mortgage-loan-insurance\/the-resource\/dealing-with-mortgage-payment-difficulties\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">tools to lenders<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that can assist homeowners who may be experiencing financial difficulty. These include payment deferral, loan re-amortization, capitalization of outstanding interest arrears and other eligible expenses, and special payment arrangements.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Canada\u2019s mortgage insurers are committed to providing homeowners with solutions to mitigate temporary financial hardship related to COVID-19. This includes permitting lenders to defer up to six monthly mortgage payments (interest and principal) for impacted borrowers. Deferred payments are added to the outstanding principal balance and subsequently repaid throughout the life of the mortgage.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/financial-consumer-agency\/services\/covid-19-managing-financial-health.html#toc2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Learn more: Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC)<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">________________________________________________________________<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Support for people facing unemployment, who are sick, quarantined, in directed self-isolation, or unable to work<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>The new Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A taxable benefit of $2,000 a month for up to 4 months to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">workers who must stop working due to COVID19 and do not have access to paid leave or other income support.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">workers who are sick, quarantined, or taking care of someone who is sick with COVID-19.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">working parents who must stay home without pay to care for children that are sick or need additional care because of school and daycare closures.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">workers who still have their employment but are not being paid because there is currently not sufficient work and their employer has asked them not to come to work.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">wage earners and self-employed individuals, including contract workers, who would not otherwise be eligible for Employment Insurance.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>The Canada Emergency Response Benefit will be accessible through a secure web portal starting in early April. The Work-Sharing program is offered to workers who agree to reduce their normal working hours because of developments beyond the control of their employers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/employment-social-development\/services\/work-sharing\/apply.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apply to the Work-Sharing program<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">________________________________________________________________<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Providing small business with wage subsidies<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Up to 75 per cent wage subsidy for qualifying businesses, for up to 3 months, retroactive to March 15, 2020. This will help businesses to keep and return workers to the payroll.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">More details on <\/span><b>eligibility criteria<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will start with the impact of COVID-19 on sales, and will be shared <\/span><b>before the end of the month.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">________________________________________________________________<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Access to credit<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Establishing a Business Credit Availability Program<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Business Credit Availability Program (BCAP) to provide more than $10 billion of additional support, largely targeted to small and medium-sized businesses, through the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) and Export Development Canada (EDC).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BDC and EDC are cooperating with private sector lenders to coordinate on credit solutions for individual businesses, including in sectors such as oil and gas, air transportation and tourism.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>As a first step, businesses in need of credit support should contact their financial institution.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/department-finance\/programs\/financial-sector-policy\/business-credit-availability-program.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Learn more about the Business Credit Availability Program<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">________________________________________________________________<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Offering a guarantee on loans<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Export Development Canada is supporting businesses by offering their bank a guarantee on loans of up to $5 million to ensure that companies can access more cash immediately.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>For more details, contact your financial institution.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.edc.ca\/en\/about-us\/newsroom\/edc-covid-business-support.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Learn more<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">________________________________________________________________<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>The New Canada Emergency Business Account<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Canada Emergency Business Account &#8211; a new loan program, that will be implemented rapidly by eligible financial institutions in cooperation with Export Development Canada (EDC).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This $25 billion program will provide interest-free loans of up to $40,000 to small businesses and not-for-profits, to help cover their operating costs during a period where their revenues have been temporarily reduced.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To qualify, these organizations will need to demonstrate they paid between $50,000 to $1 million in total payroll in 2019. This relief would apply to tax balances due, as well as instalments, under Part I of the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Income Tax Act<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No interest or penalties will accumulate on these amounts during this period.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/revenue-agency\/campaigns\/covid-19-update.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Learn more<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">________________________________________________________________<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Deferral of Sales Tax Remittance and Customs Duty Payments<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Allowing businesses, including self-employed individuals, to defer until June 30, 2020 payments of the Goods and Services Tax \/ Harmonized Sales Tax (GST\/HST), as well as customs duties owing on their imports.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The deferral will apply to GST\/HST remittances for the February, March and April 2020 reporting periods for monthly filers; the January 1, 2020 through March 31, 2020 reporting period for quarterly filers; and for annual filers, the amounts collected and owing for their previous fiscal year and instalments of GST\/HST in respect of the filer\u2019s current fiscal year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For GST and customs duty payments for imported goods, deferral will include amounts owing for March, April and May.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These amounts were normally due to be submitted to the Canada Revenue Agency and the Canada Border Services Agency as early as the end of this\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Provincial Government:<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">___________________________________________________________________________<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Temporary Aid for Workers Program<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This program offers financial assistance to meet the needs of workers who, because they are in isolation to counter the propagation of the COVID-19 virus, cannot earn all of their work income and are not eligible for another financial assistance program.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Important<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before applying for financial assistance, make sure that you are not eligible for either compensation from your employer or private insurance, and that you are not covered by other government programs, such as <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/services\/benefits\/ei.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">employment insurance <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">from the federal government.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The program is offered by the Gouvernement du Qu\u00e9bec, in partnership with the Red Cross. You will be able to apply starting March 19, 2020.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Eligibility<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This program is for workers who reside in Qu\u00e9bec and are in isolation for one of the following reasons:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">they have contracted the virus or present symptoms<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">they have been contact with an infected person<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">they have returned from abroad<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition, workers who are in isolation or likely to be under the above criteria are eligible for the PATT COVID-19 if<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">you are not receiving compensation from your employer<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">you do not have private insurance<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">you are not covered by another government program, such as <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/services\/benefits\/ei.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">employment insurance <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">from the federal government<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The program only applies to adult workers aged 18 or over.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The order to self-isolate must have been given by the Government of Canada, the Gouvernement du Qu\u00e9bec or another responsible authority.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Financial assistance<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The lump-sum amount granted to an eligible person is $573 per week, for a period of 14 days of isolation. If justified by your state of health, the coverage period for an eligible person could be extended to a maximum of 28 days.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">End of financial assistance<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You are no longer entitled to financial assistance:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">when the financial assistance has been paid in full<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">if you have not respected your <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.quebec.ca\/en\/family-and-support-for-individuals\/financial-assistance\/temporary-aid-for-workers-program\/right-and-obligations\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">obligations<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Applying<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Start by filling out the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/inscription.croixrouge.ca\/#\/0ABFBD4F-AF68-EA11-A812-000D3AF422F3\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">registration form <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Once your registration is completed, you will be sent an email containing a link to the application form. If there is more than one adult in your family, each adult must submit his or her own application.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Steps for filing an application\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Start by completing the online registration form so that we can validate your identity.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You will then receive an email confirming that we have received your request for registration.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once your identification is validated, you will receive an email containing a link to the application form for financial assistance.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The email will be sent to you as quickly as possible.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Check your spam folder if it does not arrive in your inbox.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once you have filed your application, it will be studied as quickly as possible.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If your application for financial assistance is accepted, the first payment will be made by bank transfer.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Due to the language choice of your browser settings, the language of the form can be different from your usual preference.
