I can almost hear Andy Williams crooning his most-beloved Christmas anthem in the background as the clicking sound of the keys on my laptop take over. Yes, by all accounts, Christmas time IS the most wonderful time of the year. The sights, the smells, the sounds and the ability to express our love and appreciation through the unselfish act of gift-giving are only rivalled by the uninhibited act of gift-buying\u2026lots\u2026and lots\u2026 of gift-buying.<\/p>\n

So, how fitting that the month leading up to all the spending gluttony is November\u2014 Financial Literacy Month!<\/h1>\n

The perfect time to set the budget for our holiday spending, to prevent the financial headache that seems to last through the following March\u2026also known as the January Financial Hangover\u2026and to set our financial goals for the new year.<\/p>\n

Every November is Financial Literacy Month. It is an opportunity to get educated and begin to build or further fortify our financial house.<\/h2>\n

My wish this coming holiday season is that we all give ourselves the gift that will provide stability from some of the recent unsettling global trends that are shaking the financial structure as we know it and a reassuring calm that can only be attained through a sound financial roadmap. The gift of financial health and well-being is one of the best gifts you can give yourself and those that depend on you.<\/p>\n
